Is it appropriate that twitter contains the word twit?

William Shatner is maligned for his lyric readings of popular songs, most notably Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and Mr. Tambourine Man but it seems as though he’s found a better format for deploying his wares…Twitter. Earlier this year, he gave his spoken word interpretation of Sarah Palin’s farewell address and followed it up with a few tweets that Palin had delivered. Such golden nuggets include:
Tourists from across America
Here loving their 49th state
I’m reminded one heart, one hope, one destiny
One flag from sea to sea
Shatner has followed that up with an even better subject in Palin arch enemy Levi Johnston who has become quite the prolific twitter user, nay twitterer, nay twit. See the video below for full details. I’m thinking that there are plenty of other options for William Shatner and quite a few twitter accounts. Maybe if we can get Ernest tweeting, we can get some decent poetry out of him for once :p
