Well, it really didn’t fall on the equinox itself, which was Tuesday. Even cosmic considerations must sometimes yield to the vicissitudes of scheduling at Robin’s Books on 13th and Sansom in Philadelphia. The first E-Verse Equinox reading, featuring Bojan Louis, George Green, and Afaa Michael Weaver, was almost at capacity. I noticed one empty seat, which is probably good luck. The readings were superb, and the audience was engaged and gratified on many levels (including the story of George Green bumming a cigarette from Mitch Mitchell, the drummer for the Jimi Hendrix Experience, moments before he took the stage at Woodstock, coolest cigarette story of the week). One woman in the audience remarked that I looked like Howie Mandel and insisted it was a compliment. So in all it was a strange and wonderful evening. Here are some photos. I hope to record or film the next reading, in September.

I really wish I’d been there. Ernie, you do not look like Howie Mandell, and that is a compliment also. However, In one picture above, you do look precisely like your image on an E-verse guitar pick I have from 2003.
